OHW Intumescent Paint for 30/60 Minutes Fire Protection

Fire protection doesn't have to compromise your building's appearance

Envirograf Intumescent Waterborne Paints dry to a smooth, durable finish. They are available in ready-mixed white, clear or can be tinted to any colour from any trade professional or DIY colour card.

HW Intumescent products are designed to offer 30/60 minutes fire penetration protection and Class 1 & 0 Spread of Flame protection. When exposed to fire, the intumescent paint swells and chars preventing the fire from penetrating the timber structure. Length of protection is dependent on the type and thickness of the timber, for an exact specification call the HSP Fire Protection team on 01793 525241.

HW Intumescent Paint is easy to apply by brush, roller or spray. To achieve Class 1 & Class 0 Spread of Flame Protection, apply 1 coat at 10m2 per litre. For 30/60 minutes Fire Penetration Protection, apply 2 coats at 8m2 per litre leaving 45 minutes drying time between each coat.

Envirograf Intumescent Paint can be used on new and previously coated, interior and exterior wood. When painting previously coated wood, HW Primer must be applied first.

To guarantee fire protection, HW products must be over-coated using either an Interior or Exterior Protective Topcoat.

Envirograf HW Primer. A Water-based intumescent primer for interior and exterior woodwork

A water-based intumescent primer which provides the perfect surface for Envirograf HW Intumescent Paint. HW Primer offers good adhesion, high opacity and excellent grain filling properties. The primer is designed to go on previously coated wood to aid the adhesion of Intumescent paint.

Envirograf Intumescent Coatings can be used to upgrade many types of solid door to 30 or 60 minute fire door rating. (See Ideas and Advice Section for more detail)
