Intumescent letterbox units with options including a security hood with brush seal. Lockable letter plates sold separately. 

Intumescent letter boxes are mainly used on door of flats, so that if there was a fire in the flat the fire would not break through to the escape route.

This product has been included in a fire test employing the general procedures and criteria of BS476 Part 22 1987, built into a composite door, maintaining the integrity of the door for 61 minutes.

Also tested to European Standard EN1634-1 (2000), achieving 68 minutes integrity

About Intumescent Letterbox Unit

An intumescent fire and smoke protection letter flap system comprising a frame fitted with smoke protection seal and a spring loaded flap, which can be used on either side of a door, and an intumescent liner to fix into the door aperture, only 3.5mm thick.

  • Kit A - Front frame, flap and intumescent liner
  • Kit B - Front frame, flap and intumescent liner, plus rear frame and flap
  • Kit C - Front frame flap and intumescent liner, plus rear security hood

Available in two unit sizes:

  • Hole size 50 x 267mm, Overall size 75 x 315mm
  • Hole size 69 x 290mm, Overall size 100 x 335mm
