About Under Floor Acoustic Barrier used with Under Floor Fire Barriers

A sound proofing 40mm acoustic sponge layer to be used over E053 Underfloor Fire Barriers for meeting the requirments of Document E, protection from sound (Document H in Scotland).

The 40mm thick sponge is fitted in between the joists to provide acoustic protection and insulation.

The under-floor fire barrier, product 53, is a fire proof fabric barrier providing 66 minutes integrity and insulation, It fits between joists and over the top of plasterboard or lath-and-plaster ceilings, giving full fire protection to floorboards and any insulation materials and cables above.
