An Intumescent liner to fit into the door aperture comprising two L-shaped sections fitted with self-adhesive backing for ease of fixing.

This product has been included in a fire test employing the general procedures and criteria of BS476 Part 22 1987, built into a composite door, maintaining the integrity of the door for 61 minutes.

Also tested to European Standard EN1634-1 (2000), achieving 68 minutes integrity

Description

About Intumescent Liner for Letterbox Openings in Doors

An intumescent liner comprising two L-shaped sections fitted with self-adhesive backing for ease of fixing. The liner can be cut to size with a sharp knife to fit the opening. Sizes to suit other openings can be made to order. It is used for mail apertures in fire doors, where existing letter flaps are to be used.

Standard opening sizes are 65mm x 290mm and 85mm x 340mm

This looks like a promising solution to "upgrade" my existing front door (Circa 1985), leading onto an internal hall of a three-storey apartment block. I have a letter box aperture size of 200wide x 50deep in a 44mm thick wooden 30-minute fire door. I'm planning to install this lining material to bring the door upto date. If this is a good solution and is successful, I believe that many other residents would be interested. Can you confirm I can cut the liner to fit this size please?
